Edit from Jeff: I have posted an update to this guide which provides more current information and setup for IMAP here. Godiva's original post may contain additional details and settings which can still be used for reference.

How can i access my business emails? At my company, only Outlook Web Access is allowed. Is it supported in POP Peeper somehow?
I just got PopPeeper to work with Outlook Web Access using a program called DavMail. It acts as an intermediary between Outlook Web Access and any POP or IMAP client. The instructions tell you how to set it up with Thunderbird (which I plan to do), but I was able to get it up and running pretty quickly with PopPeeper. Here's the link to the program: http://davmail.sourceforge.net/

After you download and install DavMail, setting it up is pretty straightforward, though the online information is a bit confusing. Here's a quick and dirty method just for POP3 access with PP (other methods may work, but here's what I did):

1) In PopPeeper I set up a POP3 account like so.

Account name & Email Address: Whatever you want, since they don't affect the connection.
Login name: Enter what you type in for this field when you access your email with a browser. For example, if I worked in the advertising department, my login might be
ADVERTISING\Godiva, I put the same login text into this field.
Password: (your password) :D
Server Type: POP3 No SSL
Server: localhost (yup, just type in the word "localhost")
Port: 110 (this should automatically be there when you chose "No SSL")

2) In DavMail the only thing I changed from the default settings was the info on the first tab (labeled "Main").

OWA (Exchange) URL: Enter the web address you use to log in from a browser, so as an example:
https://mail.mycompany.com/owa/
As I understand it, if your company is using Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, the URL ending is /owa/ (like mine is), if they're using Exchange Server 2003 or earlier, the URL ending is /exchange/.
Local POP Port: I enabled the checkbox, and put 110 into the text box next to it. For some reason, the default setting (and the online screenshot) had this set to "1110", I just got rid of the extra "1".
I then unchecked the remaining 4 boxes (which had to do with IMAP, SMTP, etc.), left everything else alone, and clicked Save. I may play around with the other settings, but for now all I wanted to do was retrieve email from this account into PopPeeper.

I then tried a test retrieval with PP and it worked like a charm!

By the way, DavMail was the 3rd or 4th program I tried that claimed to work in-between OWA & POP3, and it was the first one that actually worked for me. Hopefully, you can learn from my experimentation, and try DavMail first.

Good luck!

P.S. UPDATE: The current version of DavMail does not support Exchange Server 2010 (this problem is mentioned in their FAQ), but support for 2010 is listed as a goal in their next major release (see their Roadmap link).

Nice. But is there no way to make it IMAP so it would work naturally with Exchange (as in keep everything in the server)?

DavMail supports IMAP, and so it should work with PopPeeper for IMAP access (the instructions for using DavMail IMAP with Thunderbird are here: http://davmail.sourceforge.net/thunderb ... setup.html, you can use this link along with my comments in the opening post to configure DavMail with PopPeeper).

However, it's up to the administrators of your Outlook Web Access server to enable IMAP at their end to allow this to work. Unfortunately, my workplace does not (and does not plan to) support IMAP, so I have no way of testing it myself.

Let us know if you get DavMail + PopPeeper to access your OWA using IMAP.

It works!!!

That was so simple and quick to setup, I love you man! This will definitely make my life easier since my work relies heavily on checking email updates etc.

I just wanted to update this topic to let people know that the DavMail utility continues to successfully work with POP Peeper. However, I did want to post some quality-of-life updates and let people know that this can work with IMAP folders.

Preliminary - DavMail will require you to download and install Java. I recommend the 32-bit version (see next section).

Download - I recommend downloading the 32-bit versions of Java and DavMail. I initially installed the 64-bit versions and DavMail could not locate Java. This appears to be a common problem and there are workarounds, but if you don't already have Java installed, you may as well use the 32-bit versions and save yourself some headaches.
The 32-bit version can be harder to find as the default green download button will probably download the 64-bit version.
- Click Download on Sourceforge
- Click the "davmail" folder (below the green download button)
- Click the version for the latest version ("6.0.1" at the time of this writing)
- Download and install the setup.exe file for the filename that does NOT include "setup64.exe" (e.g. davmail-6.0.1-3390-setup.exe)

Installation - I used default values for both (java and DavMail). Java requires no further setup.

Setup (DavMail) - I left the values at the default to test a free @outlook.com account. You may need to change settings for your specific server, but I'd recommend testing with a free @outlook.com account first to make sure you have things setup correctly.

Setup (POP Peeper) - See the screenshot below for reference. Of note, the following values need to be changed:
- Use "Password" method
- Use "No SSL"
- Port: 1143 (change this after setting to "No SSL")
- Incoming server: localhost (or 127.0.0.1)
- Folders are supported, but the list DavMail returns by pressing "IMAP folders" is not complete. In this example, I have a valid folder named "Archive" for which I can successfully access messages, but it is not listed by "IMAP folders".
- To access a shared mailbox, use the following format for the "Login Name": mydomain/my_email_adress/SharedInbox_address
