HELLO!
(I have been using PPPro with Plus Pack for several years.)
My _MAIN_ Problem just started today. (And BTW, Just Today I Had to do a Full System Restore, in case that makes a difference.)
For ONE of my 4 Accounts, POP Peeper is showing that I have THREE New/Unread Messages (which I don't); I mark ALL as "Read" anyways (Over & Over & Over), and EVERY TIME (of the MANY Times) that I Restart POP Peeper, it AGAIN show that I have those same 3 New/Unread Messages.
PLEASE tell me how to Clear that erroneous message!
Second (but very minor) Issue:: For the past Couple Weeks, My Notifier Skin (I use "Back to Black") is ONLY announcing the Number of Messages, whereas Before it would also include the Subject/Sender. Does this mean I just need to Re-install that Skin?
Thank You Very Much for Your Help ! !
Chuck

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
Your restore may have impacted the PP version(s) you are using.
Please go to "Help" > "About POP Peeper..." and post what version of POP Peeper you are using.
What type of account is having the problem (Hotmail/Yahoo/Gmail etc)?
What protocol are you using for this account (IMAP/POP3/Webmail)?
If you are using Webmail (Hotmail/Outlook, Yahoo, Gmail etc "Server type") then please post what Webmail plugin version you are using (also in "Help" > "About POP Peeper...", 2nd line).

Thank you, Lakrsrool!
• My POP Peeper Version is 4.4.1, (& it reports it's Not using Webmail),
& All my Accounts connect via IMAP.
• The Account showing the 3 non-existent "New/Unread" emails is Yahoo.
Do you think it might clear this Frustrating Error if I merely rerun the install file?

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
You might consider using POP3 for now as Yahoo is currently having issues with IMAP (the normally preferred protocol to use) and their Webmail ("Yahoo") protocol has been unstable recently as well.
Just edit the problem Yahoo account(s) and change the "Server type" to POP3 to see if this helps. (I've been having issues with one specific Yahoo account out of a total of 8 accounts and have good luck with this problem account so far using POP3). Note: POP3 is generally not what is recommended in Yahoo for various reasons, but because of the random problems that Yahoo has be producing recently it may for now be as a last resort the best alternative available.
Note: the one problem with changing to POP3 messages will be unread when they get repopulated to you PP inbox (this is because the POP3 protocol simply does not have a read/unread status -- one of the reasons POP3 is not as desirable). What I did for this account (since I had read all messages up until the most recent two messages) is to View only the messages from that account by using the View message drop down in the PP inbox and select the applicable account so you will only have the messages in the PP inbox for that specific Yahoo account and then selecting all the messages below the most 2 current messages not yet read (using shift key to select the messages) and then doing a right-click anywhere among the selected messages in the inbox and selecting "Mark as read" from the context menu which changes all of the messages to "read".

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
Thank you Lakrsrool! I will try that.
Just one question (since I have never tried POP3 before):
Would changing that account from IMAP to POP3 have ANY effect on which messages will display (or HOW they display) when I view that account online?
Thanks, Chuck

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
Because the POP3 protocol does not have the concept of read/unread, it's possible that retrieving messages could have an effect -- it's entirely up to the server how to handle that. The server may not do anything, or it may mark the message as read, or it may even delete the message (Gmail's POP3 does this by default; but it is otherwise pretty rare these days [more common 10+ years ago when server disk space was more of a premium]).
Anyway, I tested it for Yahoo/POP3, specifically, and it didn't do anything to the online message -- unread messages remained unread. But if it concerns you, I suggest that you double-check on your own account just to make sure, as there could be account settings that affect the behavior.

Thank you Jeff and Lakrsrool! That is very helpful!
BTW All my Other Accounts (Besides this single Yahoo Account)
Are with Other Email Services. The Main Reason I wanted to retain
One Account with Yahoo is because of Yahoo’s Brilliant "Throwaway Addresses" Feature!
That Feature is SOOO Amazing that it is really bizarre to me that other services fail to include it!!
And Because of it, I am able to have Numerous email addresses that all route to that single Account!

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
Besides a few twists the Disposable Addresses ("throw away" address) feature sounds like a variation of Aliases that virtually all email clients provide (including Yahoo).

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
Disposable/Alias email addresses are not unique to Yahoo, but they are usually more of a "premium" option. As far as I know, neither Hotmail nor GMail provide aliases, although it can be simulated by creating a new account and then forwarding those account's messages to your original account.
I can come up with a couple of possible reasons why aliases aren't traditionally in "free" accounts:
1) Altruistic -- if a user can easily create email addresses, they may take a viable account name that someone else would want for their main address. If every yahoo user created 500 aliases, imagine how hard it would be to find a new email address that isn't already in use...
2) Cynical -- By forcing people to create additional accounts, the email service can inflate their popularity by saying "1 billion people have created accounts with us!" (even though it's more likely that 100 million people have created 10 accounts each)
2a) More cynical: in the case of Yahoo, they can claim that only 100 million accounts were hacked instead of 1 billion.

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
I have been using aliases in a few of my Hotmail accounts for some time.... (in the case of Hotmail, it checked for address availability way back when I set them up). I can log-in using the Hotmail alias which uses the same PWD as the main Hotmail account. Also there does not appear to be any restrictions for free version on either aliases or disposable addresses in Yahoo (could be wrong however because I didn't try either out in Yahoo beyond just looking).
Wouldn't 2a be why they would provide aliases?

Re: 2 Problems, Please :)
Ah, you're right -- Hotmail *does* support aliases. I didn't see it before, but this time I found it straight-away: at the bottom of "connected accounts" in the Mail settings. So did I miss it in gmail, too...?
To answer myself: I don't think so, searching finds this official answer from google which suggests you have to create separate accounts. Other results suggest using +Aliasing, which is next to worthless -- spammers can just remove the +alias to access your real email address, and you can't disable a +Alias.
