how to turn off automatic additions to address book

Post by stevehein2 »

I accidently turned this on and I'd like to turn it off again.

In other words each time I use a new email address I'd like to be asked if I want to add the address to my address book.

It is a bit confusing as to when using "a new email address" you want to be "asked" in reference to "add the address" to your "address book"...

Are you asking about this prompt (screen-shot below) that you perhaps previously got when composing messages (and do not get any longer)?
Perhaps you checked the box above "Do not show this prompt again" and want this prompt back.
Perhaps you checked the box above "Do not show this prompt again" and want this prompt back.
If so you can get this prompt back by resetting confirmation prompts ("Tools">"Options">"General"):
Check the box to "Rest confirmation prompts" and click "OK" (to get the prompt back that is illustrated in the first screen-shot).
Check the box to "Rest confirmation prompts" and click "OK" (to get the prompt back that is illustrated in the first screen-shot).
If this is not what you want then please clarify as spc3rd has requested (this has nothing to do with your "address book" so it may not be what you are asking about).

I thought that stevehein2 was referring to the option to automatically add email addresses to the address book when replied to --

But the solution is the same -- reset confirmation prompts.

Yep -- that is what I was talking about.

And resetting the confirmation prompts worked

Thank you everyone.

BTW I am very impressed with the program, the developer(s) and this forum.
