Does this error occur during a Pop Peeper (PP) Mail Check?

Is the error occurring on every Pop Peeper Mail Check or just sometimes?

Are you able to log-in to your mail.com account on the web using your browser?

Since the errors have occurred have you exited/restarted POP Peeper? (if not try this)

Have you rebooted your computer? (if not try this)

Have you confirmed that the Password you have in PP for this account is the same password that you use when you log-in on the web using your browser?

The above oddity is something that I recall occurring once before but unfortunately I can't recall what the resolution was at that time which may possibly have something to do with your issue.

So Jeff will need to be looking into this some time tomorrow, thank you for your patience.

mail.com no longer supports free POP3/IMAP. From an email I received in my mail.com account on Sep 18, 2015:
"
Please note that the POP/IMAP function will no longer work for your email account after this month. You will then receive an error message and you will only be able to access your account and emails via the mail.com Webclient or our Mobile Apps if you choose not to upgrade to Premium.

Protocol, if you happen to currently be using "imap.gmx.com" as your Incoming Server setting it occurs to me that you may be able to avoid upgrading your account to use IMAP by using the "imap.mail.com" Server setting as illustrated below (right-click on the account to "Edit" it).
Try this setting to see if the helps resolve your issue

Note: If this helps you out then you will also need to be using "smtp.mail.com" for the SMTP Server setting in the "Send Mail" tab (refer to this tab in image above below "General") for outgoing mail using PP.

d'oh! All this time... I thought I had tested that and it didn't have any effect. But lakrsrool is correct -- setting it from gmx.com to mail.com worked for my account.

The faq for mail.com has been updated.
