Re: Oauth2 error
Try ignoring the error and see if it gets through on the next check. OR, try right-clicking on one and then "check mail" and see if it connects (in my experience, this usually works). I have a new theory about this -- perhaps Microsoft doesn't like multiple, simultaneous login attempts fro...

Re: Change font in HTML view message windoe?
I haven't actually tested this, but the fact that you mentioned Times New Roman and I was able to find the same, I suspect this will work -- In the Windows start menu, type and open "Internet Options" On the 'General' page, press the "Fonts" button The default for "webpage f...

Re: v5.5 on XP
What you're describing is expected and how it has always worked, so that's probably not the option you were using (and I'd probably recommend disabling it). What about "hide read" -- when you delete a message, it also marks it as read and so it would be hidden in that case. It doesn't dele...

Re: v5.5 on XP
By default, PP deletes mail on the next check because it's more efficient and it can give a little more time in case of a mistake. The option you're looking for is here:
main menu: Tools / Options
General page
Enable "Advanced options"
Enable "Delete mail immediately"

Re: Network shared folder not valid as a backup location for POP Peeper backup utility
I'll take a look at this. In the meantime (depending on what the problem is, but I suspect it's just a very simple "does it look like a valid path" problem), you should be able to map a network drive and this would allow you to use backup/restore using the mapped drive.

Re: v5.5 on XP
You'd get the "AUTHENTICATIONFAILED" error. The app-passwords aren't tied to anything in particular; you can even use the same generated password in 2 different clients.

Re: v5.5 on XP
Ok, that's unfortunate that it didn't work. I've added v5.4.6 to the download archive: https://www.esumsoft.com/download/#archive You can try installing v5.4.6 over v5.5. While I have specifically stated that you shouldn't do this if you don't also restore from a backup, I'd say it's worth trying. T...

Re: v5.5 on XP
My guess is that OpenSSL v3 simply isn't supported by XP anymore. I had originally added SSLv3 for PPv6 and I had built SSLv3.0.8 using a similar method I had always used with SSLv1.1. However, when I added SSLv3 support for PPv5.5 and tried building the current version (SSLv3.0.13), I found that it...

Re: Password Protected Mailboxes No Longer Open After Updating Encryption
Ok, if you don't have access to the password anymore, there are a couple solutions. The quick and dirty solution is to delete the database file. Obviously you'll lose all your messages, but they will be re-synced on the next mail check. Certain things will be lost, such as user-flags, replied-to sta...

Re: Password Protected Mailboxes No Longer Open After Updating Encryption
Thanks for reporting this, it is a bug in v5.5. When you start POP Peeper, you will see a prompt like this: PP_AccountSecurity_v55.png Notice on the bottom that it says: "The account is now password protected with the login password" You should try to edit the account and when prompted for...

Re: 5.5 not playing nicely with Norton
I may have a new theory -- when you save the attachment(s), I assume you have the option enabled to "open folder after save"? Could you try disabling that option when you save and see if Norton still has an issue? And for another related experiment (assuming that the above does *not* cause...

Re: 5.5 not playing nicely with Norton
yeah, these files have nothing to do with PP -- they're crash reports saved by Windows. The advantage of you zipping that file up, though, is that it allowed me to see the timestamp of when that particular crash occurred -- 12:44p, which just happens to be the same timestamp in your first screenshot...

Re: 5.5 not playing nicely with Norton
Norton's "Data protector" seems to be wreaking havoc in this version for some reason. I've had several reports from people not even being able to install this version -- Did you install v5.5 via auto-update (which would explain why you may have avoided that issue)? I don't suppose that the...

Re: One of my 2 Hotmail accounts not collecting emails
Interesting. Glad you found the problem and thanks for letting us know. It's been a while since I last used ZoneAlarm, but perhaps you can create rules to make it work, e.g. whitelisting POP Peeper (poppeeper.exe). Or force-allow connections on port 993.
