Using v4.5.3 (updated today from v4.5.0.0) and having the option "Delete mail immediately" not enabled, as soon as I select an email and click on the delete button, the email disappears from the list. In the past once marked as 'to delete' it would wait until the next mail check before being deleted from the list.
I first noticed this about a week ago with v4.5.0.0. Today I checked and saw there was a new version and updated to it with no change in behavior.
It doesn't seem to matter which account it is. If I click 'delete' it happens right then and there.
Let me know if there's any further information I can provide to get this issue resolved.
Thanks.

Re: Email Being Deleted Instantly
Welcome to the forum phred,
As far as I'm aware with the option "Delete mail immediately" not enabled (un-checked) as you have it -- what you describe should not occur.
I was going to suggest that you try exiting and restarting PP -- but I'd prefer that you please wait for Jeff (PP's developer) to look into this if you don't mind.
While waiting, as you are a new member to the forum we would also ask that you take a look at the following when you have the time information for new users and forum members which provides important material that can be very useful.
Other members of the Esumsoft Team may be posting additional feedback in regards to your issue as well.

Re: Email Being Deleted Instantly
The email being removed from the list is not necessarily the same as the message being deleted immediately.
For example, marking a message as deleted also marks the message as read, so if you're using "hide read" or "hide seen" the message will be removed from the list when you delete it (but the message hasn't been deleted from the server yet).
So if you're using hide read/seen, that probably explains the behavior; otherwise, let us know.

Thanks for the reply, Jeff. And to lakrsrool also.
Typical user error here. I never noticed that "hide read" was enabled. I've been using POP Peeper for years and years and never noticed the button existed. I'm guessing it got enabled when I was aiming for 'addresses' which I use often.
In any event - the issue is resolved.
Thanks!
Re: Email Being Deleted Instantly
You're welcome --
You apparently have the "Hide Read" button added to your toolbar (near the "Addresses" button presumably). You can always remove that button if you like of course (or move it away from the "Addresses" button).
FYI - this setting "Hide read messages" (along with "Hide seen messages") are available under the main menu "Messages" option where you can not only enable/disable these functions but observe whether they are enabled (checked) or not as well (which performs the same thing as the button you have on your toolbar - hence the toolbar button is not necessarily required).

Re: Email Being Deleted Instantly
Great minds think alike. As soon as I realized what the initial issue was, I went to the toolbar settings and removed 'hide read' so that it wouldn't happen again.
Thanks.
Re: Email Being Deleted Instantly
And while we're on the subject of toolbars, here's a little known trick -- if you hold down the Shift key while dragging a toolbar button you can do various things without having to access the Toolbar settings directly:
- Re-order toolbar buttons
- If you drag the button off the toolbar, it will delete that button
- If you nudge a toolbar button, it will add/remove a separator

Re: Email Being Deleted Instantly
I thought about commenting on an alternate scenario that would avoid this undesired behavior of deleted messages getting "hidden" and still be able to "Hide" read messages in the PP In-box (if that is desired) but decided not to in order to avoid confusion at the time.
But now that the desired results have been attained -- I might as well point out a way to go ahead and hide read messages but not have the potential unwanted side-effect behavior of messages flagged for deletion to immediately (get hidden) disappear (but instead get removed later on the next Mail Check which was the desired behavior in this case).
That would be to go to "Tools" > "PPtweaker" and uncheck (disable) the (default enabled) setting pointed out in the screen-shot: By unchecking (disabling) this option you can then utilize the "Hide read messages" feature and at the same time not have newly "Deleted" messages get hidden (since the deleted messages will remain unread) hence not produce the impression messages are getting removed immediately (which are actually just getting hidden, when messages are marked for deletion, with this option pointed out in the screen-shot checked [enabled] in combination with the "Hide read messages" option enabled as well).
I'm mentioning this for the benefit for anyone who might prefer to "Hide" read messages in their PP Inbox but want to avoid this "side-effect" so to speak behavior when this default setting in the screen-shot above is used (enabled). (after reading this convoluted explanation you can probably understand why my first inclination was to skip this alternate scenario.
