Re: Outlook OAUTH issues
Are you saying that you had to re-oauth *1* time or *2* times after fixing things? It would make sense that you'd have to re-oauth ONCE after fixing it, because the data in the file is still expired and then after you re-oauth it could now be properly saved. If you're saying you did have to do it tw...

Re: Outlook OAUTH issues
Did you test that changes you make are being saved? Based on this: Ini file: C:\Program Files (x86)\POP Peeper\poppeeper.ini I'm presuming changes would not be saved because POP Peeper cannot write to files in the "Program Files" folder. Therefore, POP Peeper can update your Oauth2 values ...

Re: Outlook OAUTH issues
Do you get a warning in the error dialog that your ini file is read-only (or something similar to that effect)? Even if not, you may want to check if changes you make are being saved: change something noticeable -- such as the main window position/size -- then exit/restart POP Peeper and see if that...

Re: Moved to Folders
While v6 will provide a "better" way to do what you're looking for, there is a way to do what you want in v5: 1) Enable "Advanced options" if not already enabled (main menu: Tools / Options / General) 2) Edit the account for your folder 3) Select the "Advanced" page 4) ...

Re: Moved to Folders
Brianwuz -- The previously provided link tells you how to create a new account that accesses the folder. Once created, that folder behaves just like every other account in POP Peeper, meaning it will retrieve the messages for that folder. As mjs pointed out, the next checkmail will retrieve the mess...

Re: change read to unread in IMAP GMail
Ok, that's what I thought. With that option disabled, the messages get implicitly marked as read when PP retrieves them, but then you don't have any way to mark them as unread after that. With it enabled, you'll be able to explicitly mark messages as unread/read (and messages are not implicitly mark...

Re: change read to unread in IMAP GMail
I just did a very quick test and, after enabling that option, I opened a message and confirmed that PP does not contact the server to tell it that the message has been read. I suspect you may have another setting causing a conflict. What's your setting for the following: main menu: Tools / PPtweaker...

Re: change read to unread in IMAP GMail
The technique that I personally use when I need to remind myself that the message still needs replying to is to mark the message as unread; the same technique should work for you even using a separate email client. That being said, PP has an option that may be right up your alley: PP main menu: Tool...

Re: Outlook OAUTH issues
It seems like a connection problem to me, but I'm not sure why it would be specific to the Outlook oauth2 server, especially if you have another device that it works with (and is presumably on the same internet connection). One thing that may or may not help is to try to ping the microsoft server an...

Re: Outlook OAUTH issues
BTW. There was a problem connecting to the Oauth2 server can be true (maybe something is blocking it at random intervals?) but when I hit 'authorize' I can connect to the server without problems (in the browser). The URL used for the user-facing login and the URL used for the back-end authenticatio...

Re: How To Get Your Gmail Account To Continue Using Oauth2
This isn't a per-account change. :? It's a single setting that's in the google dev console and it would affect all your gmail accounts that are using Oauth2 for that client id; and the client id is a single/global setting in PP, too. Unless you're just saying that you have 2 gmail accounts...? (I'm ...

Re: gmail messages not deleted in pop3
Gmail handles POP3 different than typical. You can either go into your gmail account settings and change how it behaves with deleting POP3 messages or (recommended) use IMAP instead of POP3 when accessing with POP Peeper.

I have 2 accounts testing "in production" and haven't had to re-oauth yet. That was almost 1 month ago.

Re: anyone see v5.6.3 as slower?
I can't personally say if that's the case or not as I'm no longer using v5, but the code changes between v5.6.2->.3 wouldn't have made this difference. Is it possible that PP is having to retrieve the message from the server? ie. does the view-message window appear immediately but it takes longer be...

Re: v5.5 on XP
I can't endorse this solution, but if it works for XP then it's worth looking into if that applies to you. I'm not going to validate the legitimacy of the DLL's you download on that website so I'd advise everyone to do their own research first.

Re: How To Get Your Gmail Account To Continue Using Oauth2
"in production" is under "Oauth consent screen" / Audience. It's the publishing status and can be toggled between testing and in production. Based on what I had read, they won't require you to go through the review until you reach 100 users. If yours still works, that's great! I ...

Re: How To Get Your Gmail Account To Continue Using Oauth2
It has been 8 days since I switched to "in production" on my test configuration. The one account that I re-oauth'd immediately after changing to production still works with no additional need to re-oauth. The other account did subsequently need to be re-oauth'd; this is not surprising cons...

Re: Gmail connection timeout when retrieving messages
I've seen this with at least one of my gmail accounts in the past. I can't tell you why it happens (just complete guesses such as they're having a problem with the particular server that hosts your account) but it should eventually return to normal. And as per mjs' line of thinking, it can only help...
