Re: Tray Icon has the same color as that of the account

A better solution for this is to be able to specify a background color. This is an option I provide for a similar feature in Aeris Calendar, but I guess it's been so long that I've personally used that feature in PP, that it wasn't an issue on whatever OS I last used it in (probably XP?). I'll add t...

Re: Tray Icon has the same color as that of the account

You cannot -- the color represented in the tray icon will match the color of the account. Maybe a compromise in the color would help? e.g. rgb 96/0/0 to have a dark shade of red.

Re: Skin Notifier - Windows close after a certain time

I have to admit, not having looked at these settings for a while, I was confused myself; but, of course, it makes sense that the time is only available if the "mode" is set to one that hides it ("out"). But, you're right, "delay" is probably not an ideal term. I've chan...

Re: Skin Notifier - Windows close after a certain time

Here's what you need to do: 1) From POP Peeper's main menu: Tools / Skin notifier -> Select Skin Settings 2) On the bottom-right, you'll see these settings: PP_SkinNotifierSettings_Delay.png 3) Specifically, you'll want to enable "override slider" and set the "mode" to either of ...

Re: Newbie question about switching Oauth2 to password for Gmail...

I've added an extra screenshot to the guide:
https://www.esumsoft.com/news/important ... uth2-news/

As long as the dropdown box that would normally include "Oauth2" is gone, then you know that POP Peeper is using the password.

Re: Dark theme -- bright text on black background

The method that PP uses doesn't rely on Windows Dark Theme. You may want to double-check that it's set to the theme you thought:
PP main menu: Tools / Theme Viewer
Double-click "Dark theme" and see if that changes it

Otherwise, what OS are you using?

Re: How To Change Gmail Account From Oauth2 To An App Password

I did a search for "insert your security key into the usb port" and it seems this is a somewhat common problem. Unfortunately, I didn't find any actual solutions. The most common solution seemed to be to go to: Windows settings / Accounts / sign into apps with a physical security key / man...

Re: How To Change Gmail Account From Oauth2 To An App Password

Mayhem -- thanks for the tip. Can you let me know about how many accounts you had converted before this problem? I assume that you were needing to enable 2FA for these accounts (as opposed to just needing to create app-passwords)? While I understand that Google might be sensitive to lots of account ...

Re: How To Change Gmail Account From Oauth2 To An App Password

Ok, here's the revised text: edit the account in POP Peeper; if you see a disabled control that says "Password" to the right of your "Login name", this means that Oauth2 is still being used and you need to update your password (if there's an existing password, it could be your ma...

Are you sure you were using v5.6? I just went though the process of creating a gmail account in v5.6 and at no time did it suggest that Oauth2 was available.

Re: How To Change Gmail Account From Oauth2 To An App Password

I think step #4 in the "create the app-password" section may be where you got confused? I've added an extra note to that step for v5.5 users (the upcoming v5.6 will enforce the "password" method). The text in red below has just been added to the FAQ for clarity: 4. Follow the ins...

Re: PP 5.5.3 Marking Emails for Deletion?

POP Peeper's AntiJunk does not delete by default; nor would it (by default) delete if the sender is on the white list. Please email me (support at esumsoft dot com) so that we can investigate this further. If you still have any messages that PP marked for deletion, they would be helpful, too. I can'...

Re: Printing pop peeper emails doesn't include header

No, this isn't an option. Basically, POP Peeper hands off the printing capability to the html renderer in this case. I can't remember the details, but I had tried to manipulate the html to insert the header info and it had problems. PPv6 will use a different html renderer, so -- no promises -- I'll ...

Re: PP 5.5.3 Marking Emails for Deletion?

Did the messages have a red-X or a blue trashcan (I know you said the garbage can but I just want to verify)? The red-X represents "no longer on server" whereas the blue trashcan means "marked for delete." If you're used to v3, it used a blue-X for "marked for delete" (...

Re: PPtweaker -> Shortcut key for "Move" popup?

I did add this, but I think it's scheduled for PPv6. Not that I consider this a very viable alternative, but if you're really desperate for a keyboard access, you could use the context key on your keyboard (assuming it has one); then key-up/down (ugh, sorry, "move to" doesn't even have a m...

Re: Oauth2 Authentification Process

I had tested Gmail/Oauth2 on 2 instances before my first response, but your error is indicative of something happening; perhaps 3rd party.

However, the best solution is to use an app password:
