Re: stop "in transmission"
You can press the "Stop" button -- usually the first button in the main toolbar. If all else fails you can exit and restart POP Peeper.

Re: rambler.ru
Bummer. I had apparently created an account in 2016 (probably the last time I accessed it, too). I just tried logging in via webbrowser and it still recognized my account. It told me I hadn't logged in for over 2 years and so all my email was deleted; tried PP and it failed with the following error:...

Re: rambler.ru
I was hoping I'd found a decent usable free email that doesn't want your phone number to sell and that wouldn't spy on everything you do, but that's a forlorn hope these days. Unfortunately, I think the last remaining choices for email are: - The big 3 (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook; I consider AOL the sam...

Re: rambler.ru
The only other suggestion I can make is to ensure that the "server requires authentication" is enabled on the edit account/SendMail page in POP Peeper. But "service unavailable" does suggest there's probably something more to it and you could be on the right track regarding locat...

Re: Outlook / Hotmail Account Issues
Personally, I prefer to use an authenticator app instead of email/sms verification. It's generally easier overall. But if you use email verification, then I think it kind of makes sense not to use circular verification on 2 accounts (not to say I haven't probably done the same). I'd probably suggest...

Re: 1 of 5 gmail accounts doesn't work
Re: AOL If you're not removing non-existent messages, you may want to see if there are duplicate messages (ie. some with a red-X and the same message without). Sometimes email servers will change the UID (Unique ID) of the existing messages and this can cause that problem, so PP will keep the old me...

Re: 1 of 5 gmail accounts doesn't work
What is the specific error that is reported? Gmail sometimes gives a hint in the error.
Otherwise, yes, I would suggest just making another app-specific password. Google won't allow you to see old app-passwords, but I would recommend deleting the old one.

Re: Outlook / Hotmail Account Issues
I can't say that I've noticed the "email code" thing either, but it's one of those things you probably don't notice until something else isn't working correctly :) But, as of the next version (v5.4.7/v5.5), POP Peeper will default to using the "web browser" method for Outlook acc...

Re: popeeper 4.5.6 marks mails as read
If you have POP Peeper Pro, there's a rule in POP Peeper that may be causing this. Originally, the rule would hide and mark read any message you sent to yourself, but this was later updated so that messages that you to/cc yourself would not be affected (it would only be affected if you BCC'd yoursel...

Re: Office365 and Oauth2
To anybody with GoDaddy accounts -- you just need to setup your account in POP Peeper to use Outlook IMAP settings and, importantly, Oauth2 is required. That is: 1) Edit the account in POP Peeper 2) Make sure that the incoming server is: outlook.office365.com (other addresses may work, too, like ima...

Re: Win 7 password
You need to make sure that you've provided POP Peeper with the app-specific password. I'm fairly certain that Gmail only responds with "Application-specific password required" if it is still trying to login with your main password.

Re: POP Peeper locking up
The only maintenance that POP Peeper runs is compacting the databases, and that's only performed every 90 days by default (Tools / Options / Storage). The main reason why PP takes so long to load is contingent on the number of messages you have. If you want PP to load faster (and perform better over...

Re: OAuth2 Authentication error
No, that's not how that works. Once you enable 2FA on your account and then create an app-password for POP Peeper to use, that password will behave just like a normal password; ie. you don't have to 2FA everytime to check mail on POP Peeper. Also, while it's only alluded to in that article, if you r...

Re: POP Peeper locking up
Here's the current situation: I was able to find the specific problem that you discovered. As suspected, it was a deadlock issue. Then I looked for some other issues in the same area and found some more potential deadlocks (e.g. when using get next/previous unread message). I spent the rest of the d...

Re: POP Peeper locking up
ECourts -- thanks for the detailed diagnosis; it's very much appreciated! Here's what I just tried: I added 10K messages to an account, and while PP was retrieving those messages, I would periodically toggle between which column was being sorted several times and then pause and then repeat. No probl...

Re: PopPeeper ends for no apparent reason
We will continue to hope in future versions, but it gives me that they will never improve 4. "They" is me. And to fix a problem I either have to (a) experience the problem myself or (b) have the cooperation of a user with the problem. If you're willing to troubleshoot, then please email m...

No, it's in the free version, it's just that the steps have changed slightly since that was first written. I've updated the FAQ:
