Re: Email Reply: Do You Want to Change Account?

One other thing I forgot to mention in regards to the bug that was found -- even though this bug will be fixed in PP v5.1.3, it only prevents it from happening and it will NOT undo the changes made by the bug, so it will be necessary to change the "default account" for existing contacts wh...

Re: Repeated OAuth2 permissions

Yahoo servers have had issues for the past couple of days. It doesn't seem that re-authenticating oauth improves anything, so I don't recommend bothering with that and just riding it out for now.

Re: Email Reply: Do You Want to Change Account?

tjpsnj -- I just looked back at one particular comment you made: "All of my Account Default settings are blank for all entries in my address book. " If you can re-confirm this, then I'll need you to email me so that you can provide additional information. I can confirm that the only time t...

Re: Email Reply: Do You Want to Change Account?

It is a bug. I'm sorry that you felt that we were denying it, but neither mjs nor I had been able to duplicate the problem and so we were (a) trying to understand what the problem is specifically and (b) doing our best to provide a solution, given that we were not able to reproduce the problem. The ...

Re: Frequent 'Unknown Host' message on two BT email accounts

Ok, let us know. For the record, there was a time when I would generally recommend using your ISP's DNS (several people using 1.1 would experience long timeouts when performing some DNSBL lookups). However, some while ago, I did switch to 1.1 myself; but can't say I've noticed any technical improvem...

Re: mail.com can't send

I sent a test message using the same mail.com smtp server to an outlook.com server and it was received immediately. I then reviewed the email headers, and it did not use the 82.165.159.131 server. I then did some more digging and found this page, which includes the '82' server in the "poor repu...

Re: Frequent 'Unknown Host' message on two BT email accounts

This *may* just be coincidence. An "unknown host" error means that it was not even able to connect to the host; the "hostname matching" option is for SSL, and occurs after the connection has already been made. Intermittent "unknown host" errors usually means a problem w...

Re: mail.com can't send

82.165.159.131 is a gmx.com server -- it is NOT your personal IP address. What the error suggests is that outlook.com is rejecting the email because they use spamhaus DNSBL and one of the mail.com (gmx.com) servers that your email is being routed through is on the blacklist. In fact, if you open the...

Re: "Waiting for Internet connection..."

"Permanent" relies on Windows to relay if there's a valid connection -- you may have a cable unplugged, you may not be in wifi distance, etc. and you'll see "waiting for internet connection." Or Windows may just not be able to detect it correctly. btw, you can press F1 for contex...

And that's why we're suggesting to use "Assume I'm always online."

Re: "Waiting for Internet connection..."

Maybe I missed where you reported back on this (if so, apologies), but I remember mentioning this to you in email a couple weeks ago, too, but have you changed the "connection type" in POP Peeper? main menu: Tools / Options Connection Connection type = assume I'm always online Or maybe I'm...

Re: junk mail icon is on but no junk mail

Sorry for the delayed reply; it sounds like you found the message causing the indicator. But just to add a couple comments: 1) The only filter that's included by default that would hide the message is the "BCC" rule; but this will also mark the message as read, which means it wouldn't caus...

Re: HTML message does not render properly within PP

Ok, it looks like this message requires IE11 compatibility. POP Peeper uses IE10 by default because it was found to be more stable; this was a while ago, so it's possible that MS fixed some bugs in the meantime, but it's something to keep in mind if PP starts crashing when you try to view a message....

Re: HTML message does not render properly within PP

If you see a yellow bar at the top with things like "show html" and/or "show images" then double-click that yellow banner until it goes away, so that everything can be seen in full HTML. But assuming that's not the problem, can you send a sample message to me so I can investigate...

And just to clarify -- on the screenshot that mjs posted, you want to UNcheck the "open folder after save" option.

Re: Email Reply: Do You Want to Change Account?

By default, any contacts should be using the blank/empty entry for the default account -- are you saying that you did not explicitly set this value? Do *all* of your contacts have it set (incorrectly)? And, if not, is there any pattern that you can see? e.g. are newer or older contacts affected, etc.

Re: Email Reply: Do You Want to Change Account?

mjs may have had a separate reason for asking for those screenshots, but I don't think they're applicable to what I think the explanation is. As I alluded to above, you can assign a "default account" for contacts in your address book. When you compose an email using that contact's email ad...

Re: Email Reply: Do You Want to Change Account?

What is the exact sequence of events in which this occurs? The only time it should happen is when you add an email address to the list of recipients (to/cc/bcc), either through the address book or via auto-complete (and there are additional restrictions, too). But -- and perhaps this answers your qu...

Re: Status Bar Icons Re-scaling

The suggested image size for that icon is 24x24: https://www.esumsoft.com/products/pop-peeper/ref/custom-icons/#buttons which means that it will usually be downscaled. If you don't want the image to appear upscaled, then you should make your image size larger and fill in background so that your orig...

Re: Change Messages Font

Not any supported method. You can take a look at this potential solution: https://superuser.com/questions/506192/disable-cleartype-blurry-fonts-in-internet-explorer-10-on-windows-7 These solutions are old, though, and only mention Win7 (although one comment mentions it does *not* work on win8.1, so....
