  • - NWS service: temperatures below freezing could cause data to be considered invalid

  • - New weather provider (primarily for non-USA locations): OpenWeatherMap.org
  • - NWS service considers a new list of weather stations that may provide more accurate results in some locations
  • - NWS service incorporates statistics to learn which weather stations may not be reliable (as far as availability) and not use them
  • - NWS service: user can now block stations and set stations to have higher priority (folder: settings\stats\Nws_Stations.ini)
  • - NWS weather data would sometimes show forecast with hi/lo temperatures being the same (e.g. 53/53) when forecast data for the time period is unavailable; it will now show "-"
  • - DPI-related fixes: tray icon when using 2 lines; desklet (larger weather); mini calendars on main interface
  • - Options for "hourly-weather unavailable" have been removed

  • - Weather updates:
    • Location query provided by Bing Maps
    • New weather service provider: NWS (more to come)
    • New 'Overview' weather page shows current, forecast and hourly on a single page
    • Current weather data is not displayed if the data is stale (several hours old)
  • - iCalendar format support (read-only)
    • iCalendar allows you to easily display holidays, birthdays, agenda, etc. from other sources, including from the internet (e.g. Google Calendar)
    • Time-based tasks are now supported via iCalendar, which allows you to see events that occur at a specific time, including in a traditional "agenda" format to see all upcoming tasks/events
    • All default holidays now use iCalendar
  • - Calendar graphical updates:
    • New Navigation icons (calendar, weather, reminders, todo)
    • Analog clock face uses a pre-rendered image (several options to choose from)
    • New weather icon sets available
    • New graphics for the moon phases
    • New box shadow makes text much more legible against any background image/colors
    • Current conditions and temperature use larger font on Navigation window
    • High resolution images are processed faster (and many high-res images are now included)
    • Image format .png is now supported for the background image
    • New default text colors which are adaptive to dark or light backgrounds should make the use of a separate "theme" file unnecessary -- all you need is the image
  • - Unicode support
  • - New weather-based theme changes the background image based on the current weather conditions
  • - Windows Wallpaper can be set to use the same image as Aeris' theme (particularly useful with current weather theme)
  • - Notes updates:
    • Notes now have an optional "description" which will be displayed on the calendar instead of the full note
    • Notes List window is now resizable
    • Notes List can be searched
  • - Reminders:
    • Dialog box shows time that reminder occurred; reminder text is in bold font
    • Access "Full reminder" from a Quick Set reminder
    • Dialog box can be set to "Always on top" (either by default in options, or using context menu on existing reminder)
    • Common "Snooze" preset times have been added; allowing you to select a snooze time without affecting the custom value; also makes selecting large values (e.g. 1 day) more practical
    • Voice option
    • Select notification type per-reminder: Windows notification, message box or none
    • More ways to access today's list of reminders including a Global hotkey
    • Dismiss upcoming reminders for recurring reminders
  • - Desklet:
    • 3-day forecast (replaces todo list; can toggle back & forth)
    • Clicking on the desklet shows the entire desklet if using Auto-hide
    • Today's Hi/Lo temperature is displayed below the current conditions (if space allows)
    • Font size of temperature is larger
    • Option to show "larger weather" which replaces notes with the current temperature/conditions in a larger font
    • Clicking once on the Aeris tray icon will bring the desklet to the top of other windows
  • - Calendar can begin on any day of the week and will use system's setting by default (e.g. start week on Monday instead of Sunday)
  • - Improved redraw responsiveness when resizing the window
  • - Tray Icon: uses a background color by default to ensure it's visible when Windows hides it (transparent is an available option)
  • - Tray Icon: Tooltip can now include next reminder information
  • - Tray Icon: Single click brings the Desklet to the top
  • - Aeris can automatically check for new versions
  • - Theme files now have a single macro line to specify that the image should be full-screen

  • - Three custom URLs can be added to the weather page (configure in Options / Weather)
  • - Double-clicking on weather forecast in calendar opens detailed weather page in your browser
  • - Moon phases can be based on your local timezone (configure in Options / General)

  • - Improvements to the main calendar GUI:
    • The calendar days that are not in the current month are shaded
    • Previous calendar days have a slash through them
    • The current calendar day is shaded a different color
    • The current weekday is highlighted
    • Moon phases
    • New and user-selectable weather icons
    • Larger, bolder fonts for easier reading
    • User-selectable font size
    • Graphics are now rendered with alpha-blending for better quality
  • - Event Editor:
    • Event icons can be displayed on the calendar
    • Event themes can be specified for the calendar background on the day of the event
    • Multiple dates can be specified for a single event
    • Easter is now an available date (to allow additional holidays such as Lent, Good Friday, etc.)
    • Reminders can be associated with an event (e.g. to remind you to buy a birthday gift)
    • "Add Event" Wizard now makes it easier to add common events like birthdays and anniversaries
    • Birthdays and anniversaries can show the age on the calendar
  • - Reminders:
    • New option, "every," allows a reminder every ## days
    • New option to specify an executable to launch when reminder occurs (e.g. task scheduling)
    • "Missed Reminders" informs you of the reminders activated when your system was powered down
    • Reminders can be "snoozed"
  • - Themes:
    • Any image can be used as the background image
    • Option for random themes
    • An event-specific theme can be used on the day of the event
    • "Most Recently Used" list of themes
  • - The desklet color can automatically color-coordinate with the current theme
  • - Print the calendar
  • - An analog clock is available (default)
  • - Review all notes in a single window
  • - Easier navigation, including the capability to enter a specific date
  • - More detailed information when you hover over elements in the calendar
