Common Errors

  • Open FAQ in new window Outlook: User is authenticated but not connected
  • One possible reason for this is that IMAP/POP3 may not be enabled in your account. Most older accounts should have this enabled by default, but newer Outlook accounts may have to enable this manually.

    1. Log into your outlook.com account and press the gear icon (top-right)
    2. Make sure you're on the "Mail" page and then select the "Forwarding and IMAP" link
    3. It may be necessary to sign in to verify your account
    4. At the bottom of the page, make sure that "Let devices and apps use IMAP" is enabled (or "POP" if you're using POP3)
    5. Press the 'Save' button
